This disease causes negative effects not only on one’s performance at work but also on one’s overall physical and mental health.

The effect of job stress on an individual usually depends on the stage or the level of job stress that he or she is experiencing. Some job stress conditions simply give an individual more motivation to work. However, without doing measures to alleviate job stress, it can worsen and eventually affect one’s performance negatively. In some cases, job stress seriously affects one’s physical and psychological health, thus the need for professional assistance.

People experiencing job stress usually suffer insomnia, uncontrolled anxiety, lack of concentration, depression, short temper, headache, back ache, stomach ache, discomfort, sleep disturbance, uneasiness, job dissatisfaction, and lack of confidence or low morale, among others.

Dealing with job stress

If you already feel seriously depressed or uncomfortable at work, there’s a fat chance that you’re experiencing the earliest manifestations of job stress. If that’s the case, it must be about time for you to rest and relax a bit. Try taking a short leave from work to unwind and refresh your self. Give yourself time to relax. Go out with your family or friends. If that doesn’t work, then you must need professional help. Consult a psychologist right away.

However, while there are ways to cure job stress, prevention is always better. And the best way to prevent stressing yourself over work is by not being to hard on your self. You can be industrious but make sure you enjoy it enough so as to put less pressure on yourself. Make sure you always have time to enjoy to even things out.
